ADEN, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Prisoners and detainees in prisons run by factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition announced on Sunday an open hunger strike in most of the prisons located in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.
Detainees in Bir Ahmed prison, supervised by Emirati officers, have announced an open hunger strike in protest against the extended prison stay without charges or trial, as stated in a press release.
According to the press release, the open strike comes in solidarity with the prisoners and detainees in Al-Mansoura Central Prison, who announced a comprehensive hunger strike.
The prisoners and detainees in Bir Ahmed prison held the coalition authorities accountable for the consequences of their actions.
