UN reveals new surprise about needs of “Safer” tanker
HODEIDA, Aug. 21 (YPA) – The US special envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, said on Monday that work on the Safer floating tank off the port of Hodeida has not been completed yet.
During his meeting with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, David Gressly, Lenderking explained that the United Nations is still in urgent need of $22 million to remove the Safer and dock the alternative ship, according to a post by the Office of Media Communications at the US State Department on the “X” platform.
On August 11, the United Nations announced the successful completion of the transfer of crude oil cargo from the Safer reservoir, which prevented the threat of a huge leak.
