TAIZ, Aug. 21 (YPA) – The UAE-backed armed factions lost on Monday one of the most prominent coastal cities in Taiz province, southwestern Yemen.
Local media outlets confirmed that sons of the city of Al-Waziya announced their rebellion against the factions led by Tariq Saleh, the orphan of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, on the western coast.
This came during an unprecedented tribal meeting, which was called by the leader “Abu Diab Al-Alqami, to declare their separation from the rule of the local and military authorities in the Saleh-run coastal city of Mocha of Taiz.
“Al-Alqami” had fought various battles against the factions of “Tariq Saleh” in the city of Al-Khawkhah, after Tariq Saleh’s decision to dismiss him on June 17. Also, “Al-Alqami” was subjected to an assassination attempt in the city of Al-Khawkhah, which led to killing 2 of his companions.
In the context, Nabil al-Soufi, the media adviser to Tariq Saleh, warned “Al-Alqami” of the consequences of committing the mistakes that the Islah Party had planned for.
