UN did not abide by agreement signed regarding Hodeida port: Transport Minister

SANAA, Aug 16 (YPA) – Minister of Transport in the Sanaa government, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, confirmed on Wednesday that the United Nations did not abide by the agreement signed to provide the necessary equipment to Hodeida port.

“There is no justification for the continuation of the inspection team in Djibouti, because it leads to delays in the entry of ships to the port of Hodeida and doubles costs,” the Minister said in a news statement.

Regarding flights, the minister explained whenever a result has been reached expanding flights to and from Sanaa Airport, this is obstructed by the other party.

“We find great difficulties in providing the required reservations for flights to and from the airport due to the lack of expansion of flights.”

Previously, Al-Durra had submitted a letter of objection to the United Nations against signing a memorandum of understanding with the pro-coalition government to reduce the cost of marine insurance on ships, as it did not cover the entire ports of the Republic of Yemen.
