Saudi forces surround STC factions in central Aden

ADEN, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has sent new military reinforcements to the city of Aden, the stronghold of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in southern Yemen.

Eyewitnesses reported on Tuesday dozens of Saudi military vehicles and cars arriving in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa province, through the Al-Abr road linking Hadramout province and the Al-Wadiah crossing at the border with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi forces are carrying out suspicious movements inside Aden to surround STC factions loyal to the UAE and limit their movements, and they are also working to strengthen the “Dera al-Watan” factions loyal to President of the “Presidential Leadership Council,” Rashad Al-Alimi, according to observers.

The Saudi military reinforcements came after pro-UAE “Al-Amaliqa” factions stormed Ma’ashiq Palace, the residence of the pro-Saudi-led coalition government.
