ABYAN, Aug 11 (YPA) – A prominent tribal sheikh in Abyan province in southern Yeme, called on tribes to root out terrorist elements from various directorates of the province, following the killing of Abdul Latif al-Sayed, the commander of the Security Belt Forces affiliated with The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias.
Tribal Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Ahmed stressed the need to root out terrorism and take revenge against the killing of Sheikh Mohammed Kreed al-Jaadi and the commanders of the Security Belt Factions in Abyan.
This came after Al-Qeaed claimed responsibility for carrying out the operation.
Last April, Sheikh Mohammed Kreed al-Jaadi was subjected to a misinformation campaign by the pro-STC leaders and activists after he returned back from Sanaa.
Kreed Al-Ja’adi chaired a tribal delegation of the people of Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Bayda, who arrived in Sanaa at the end of last April to demand the release of prisoner Major General Faisal Rajab after he was excluded from prisoner exchange deals between the Sanaa government and the Saudi-led coalition.
