COPENHAGEN, July. 22 (YPA) – A Danish far-right anti-Islam group burned on Friday a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital.
Members of the group, which calls “Danske Patrioter”, raised anti-Islam banners and chanted slogans against Muslims, desecrating the Quran in the capital.
They also broadcasted the attack that targeted the Qur’an live through the group’s Facebook account.
The group affirmed that this attack came in respond to the attack that targeted the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.
Previously, the group had attacked the Holy Quran and the Turkish flag in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.
On Thursday, Salwan Momika tore up a copy of the Quran and the Iraqi flag in front of the Baghdad embassy in Stockholm, in a second incident for the same person after the first in late June, after the Swedish authorities allowed him to target Muslim sanctities.
Millions of Muslims expressed outrage about a similar incident in Sweden and called on the authorities to prevent such hateful acts from repeating.
