Islah recruits in Seiyun assault truck driver, loot his money

HADRAMOUT, July 19 (YPA) – A truck driver has been exposed to looting by members of a checkpoint belonging to the first military region loyal to the Islah party in the city of Seiyun in Hadramout.

According to local sources, the truck driver arrived at the military checkpoint of the first military region in the city of Seiyun near al-Maqwat market. He was stopped by the members of the checkpoint asked to pay 20,000 Yemeni riyals to let him entering the city of Seiyun.

“The truck driver said that the amount is large and got off the truck to talk to the members of the point, where he offered them 10,000 riyals. His offer was rejected by the members of the point, and after an altercation everyone agreed on 15, 000 Yemeni riyals,” the sources explained

The sources reported that after the driver returned to the truck, which he stopped next to the point, he found the glass of the truck broken, as he had 200, 000 Yemeni riyals in the cabin taken by the members of the point.

The sources confirmed that the military checkpoint bears the responsibility for stopping the driver and looting him without an official bond.
