Devaluing local currency causes general strike in Taiz

TAIZ, July. 13 (YPA) – Taiz province has witnessed a general strike to protest against the continued depreciation of the Yemeni currency against foreign currencies.

Local sources affirmed on Thursday that the strike was carried out by dozens of the province’s merchants.

The collapse of the local currency in the city of Taiz and the coalition-held provinces are leading to escalating protests due to the deteriorating security and living conditions.
