Security services thwart smuggling of 9 deer in Ibb

IBB, June 16 (YPA) – Security services in Ibb province thwarted an attempt to smuggle rare deer out of Yemen.

A security source explained that the security forces seized nine deer at Shabbn checkpoint south of Ibb city.

He explained that the deer were hidden on a truck.

According to preliminary investigations, the deer were on their way to  be smuggled out of Yemen.

The investigations will be completed and the case file will be referred to the competent authorities.

 It is noteworthy that the security services had thwarted previous operations to smuggle rare Yemeni deer to Saudi Arabia, in an indication of systematic smuggling targeting these rare species.
