Sanaa stresses need to distance Hajj from politicization

SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – President of the Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, stressed the need to distance the Hajj from politicization and tampering with the quotas of Yemeni pilgrims.

Al-Mashat urged closing the electronic route to dispatch pilgrims from the capital, Sanaa to during the Hajj season.

This came during his meeting with the Minister of Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Najib Nasser Al-Aji.

“The Saudi regime is deliberately politicizing the Hajj and limiting it to a very limited number of people from one country, bypassing a prominent feature of the Hajj as a comprehensive obligation for Muslims from all over the world and a violation Allah’s instructions,” Al-Mashat added.

Mr. President pointed out that the Yemeni pilgrims suffer from bandits, killings, and theft of their property while they pass through the coalition-held areas.
