Power plants in Aden to suspend services after running out of fuel

ADEN, May 08 (YPA) – The Electricity Corporation, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition authorities in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, has announced running out of fuel, calling for urgent intervention before stopping.

The corporation said in a statement on Monday that the power stations have actually started reducing the power generation to a minimum, after the quantities of diesel fuel be about to run out.

The statement stressed the need to operate the power plants at their available capacity, in order to alleviate the suffering of the people as a result of stopping service that may rise during the coming hours, in light of a heat wave in the city.

The corporation indicated that its repeated appeals to a leadership of the local authority and the government loyal to the coalition were ignored.
