CAMA: Preventing sales travel tickets will negatively impact on Yemenia Airways

SANAA, March 26 (YPA) – Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA),  confirmed that the decision on prevent ticket sales from Yemen on “Sanaa-Amman” line will reflect negatively on Yemenia Airways in the near term, if this decision is not reversed.

Director General of Air Transport at the General Authority for Civil Aviation Dr. Mazen Ghanem, told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the decision caused great discontent and indignation, and a loss of confidence of the traveling public in Yemenia Airways, as a result of the complexity of their travel procedures through their official national carrier.

He pointed out that nearly 70 percent of the employees of travel agencies will lose their source of livelihood as a result of the closure of sales of tickets from inside Yemen.

Mazen Ghanem, pointed out that the emergence of a new airline in Yemen will lose Yemen Airways sales, and may lead to the bankruptcy of the company, as a result of the discontent of travelers and travel agents and their discontent with the use of Yemen Airways services, as a result of this arbitrary decision.

He called on Yemenia Airways to stand with its passengers and travel agents at this difficult time, and to quickly review its decision to improve its reputation and attract the public of travelers and travel agents to continue its work in the future.
