Shabwa activists demand disclosure of causes for explosions, unknown tremors

SHABWA, Feb. 12 (YPA) – A number of people from rich- oil Shabwa province doubted the occurrence of natural seismic tremors in the city of Ataq, the capital of the governorate, during the past hours.

Activists attributed the tremors, which were followed by terrifying sounds similar to the sounds of “lightning” in the ground, to excavations carried out by foreign companies to loot mineral wealth, including gold.

They accused the UAE of stealing mineral resources and transporting them day and night under the allegations of seismic tremors.

The activists demanded the disclosure of  the causes of the explosions and repeated tremors from time to time since the beginning of last year 2022.

It is noteworthy that explosions and tremors hit multiple areas in Shabwa governorate occur frequently without recording or monitoring of earthquakes from regional and international seismic monitoring and study centers.
