Spanish authorities detain Algerian passenger ship Tarek Ben Ziad

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – The head of the Transport and Communications Committee of Algerian parliament, Munsy Ali, announced that the Spanish authorities detained on Wednesday the passenger transport vessel Tarek Ben-Ziad at the level of the Spanish port of “Alicante”.

The Algerian newspaper “Al-Khabar” quoted the chairman of the Transport and Communications Committee in parliament, in a statement, as saying that the decision to book the ship was due to non-respect for hygiene conditions.

He added: the captain of the ship did not fulfill his duty at the level of the pier where the ship was to dock in the port of Alicante.

Muncy called on the relevant authorities to do their part and reveal the reasons for the seizure of the steamer, considering that the reasons mentioned do not lead to the booking of a ship such as Tarek bin Ziyad ship.
