Despite direct flights to Tel Aviv.. Qatar renews its rejection of normalization with Zionist entity
DOHA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – Qatar has renewed its position and rejected normalization with the Zionist entity, despite the announcement of direct flights between Tel Aviv and Doha during the World Cup.
On Thursday, Agence France-Presse quoted an unidentified Qatari official as saying that “Qatar’s position on normalization has not changed and remains closely linked to the solution of the Palestinian issue, including the two-state solution in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.”
The Qatari official noted that “recently, we have not seen any positive developments in the peace process that deserve to change our policy.”
Direct charter flights will operate between Zionist regime and Qatar, which do not have formal diplomatic ties, during the upcoming World Cup in Doha, FIFA said on Thursday.
In a statement, FIFA noted that Israelis and Palestinians holding tickets for matches and a digital Haya card would be allowed to board flights that will depart directly from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport to Doha’s Hamad International Airport by an airline that has rights to land in Qatar.
