Tribal gunmen in Lahj block Taiz-Aden road

LAHJ, Oct. 29 (YPA) – Several gunmen of Al-Sabiha tribes in Lahj province blocked on Saturday the main road linking the provinces of Taiz and Aden, in southern Yemen.

Local sources stated that the step came in a protest rally against the detention of one of their sons in the Islah prisons in Taiz, demanding his immediate release.

The sources pointed out that hundreds of travelers, including children and women, slept on the side of the road in Tur Al-Baha, is a district of Lahj province, stranded without regard to their suffering by the coalition-backed authorities.

Taiz-Tur Al-Baha road is the only outlet for the residents of Taiz towards the city of Aden, which is controlled by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militia.
