Archaeologists uncover ancient city buried under sands in Zabid

HODEIDA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Activists circulated photos on social media on Thursday showing what they said “the remains of an ancient city buried under the sand in Tihama region of Hodeida province, western Yemen.

Four archaeologists have uncovered the remains of an ancient city called “Manama”, located northwest of Zabid,” one of the oldest Yemeni cities in history.

According to the archaeologists, the city looks older than Zabid.

They considered the city to be one of the greatest Tihama cities that was lost under the sands.
