Foundation stone laid for service projects on Kamaran Island worth 320 million riyals
SANAA, Oct. 06 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs-Minister of Finance – Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, along with Hodeida province Governor Muhammad Quhim and Head of the Presidential Committee Ahmed Al-Hadi, inspected on Thursday the conditions of citizens on Kamaran Island.
During the visit, Dr. Abu Lahoum and his companions laid the foundation stone for service projects on the island at a estimated cost of 320 million riyals, in coinciding with the celebration of the Prophet birthday anniversary.
Those projects included building a tower water tank with a capacity of 50 cubic meters, installing three solar energy systems for the island’s water desalination plants, with a capacity of 500 kilowatts, providing drinking water to the residents of the villages of Kamaran, Yemen and Makram.
The Deputy Prime Minister ordered the speedy rehabilitation of the rainwater harvesting tank targeted by the Saudi-led coalition, and also the provision of power systems to the island’s schools, and medical equipment to the island’s hospital.
Abu Lahoum explained that these projects would be financed by the Central Emergency Development Intervention Unit at the Ministry of Finance and the Hodeida Governorate Support and Development Fund.
