ABYAN, June 25 (YPA) – At least nine of the so-called UAE-backed security belt forces were wounded when an explosive device went off in their vehicle in the southern province of Abyan on Monday, a local source told Yemen Press Agency.
The explosion targeted a military vehicle of the so-called commander of the rapid intervention forces, during a military crackdown on Al-Qaeda elements in al-Khobar Marakisha area of the province, the source said.
The wounded were rushed to hospitals in the capital city of the province and to Aden city, the source added.
The southern provinces have been experiencing a wide spread of al-Qaeda elements, backed and financed by the coalition forces occupying those provinces and have contributed significantly to the security chaos therein.
