Canada threatens to impose new sanctions on Russia
WORLD, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has stated that his country will impose new sanctions on Russia over the referendum on joining Russia in the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
A statement issued by Trudeau and published on its official website said: “In response to the ongoing escalation we intend to impose new sanctions against individuals and entities involved in this latest attempt to undermine the principles of state sovereignty.”
The statement noted that Canada “does not and will never recognize” the results of this referendum.
