TAIZ, Sept. 15 (YPA) – Gunmen loyal to Islah Party, believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda, in Taiz province failed to target Al-Dabab police Station with an explosive device, well-informed sources in Taiz reported on Thursday.
The sources confirmed that soldiers of the police station found an explosive device next to the station, and it was dismantled, adding that the Islah party deployed al-Qaeda members in the countryside of Taiz, in preparation for the upcoming confrontation there.
Meanwhile, Islah’s activists accuse the pro-UAE security leader, Ammar Afash, of spreading terrorist elements to target the party’s leaders in Taiz areas.
Pro-UAE researchers had said last August that the terrorist organization had appointed “Abu Hammam Al-Tazi” as the emir of the so-called “Taiz Wilayat” in the areas under the control of Islah, taking the city of Al-Turbah as the organization’s headquarters.
Insecurity state prevails in many areas under the control of the Islah party gangs in Taiz, amid the spread of robberies and attacks on public and private property, the latest of which was the looting of an ambulance belonging to Al-Thawra Hospital on Wednesday.
