WORLD, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Two people, including a police officer, were killed and three others injured in a series of shootings in the southeastern province of Ontario on Monday evening, Canada police said.
A gunman shot and killed a police officer at close range in what police described as an “unprovoked attack” in n Mississauga, west Toronto, and another person was also injured, according to police.
Less than an hour later, gunfire took place in the neighboring town of Milton, where one person was killed and two wounded, police said.
According to the police, a 30-year-old man, suspected who was involved in the shooting here in Mississauga, he stole a jeep and fled the scene before being found in Hamilton, southern Toronto.
The gunman was taken into custody and pronounced dead in Hamilton. That incident is now the subject of an investigation by Ontario’s police watchdog.
According to reports, the one person wounded in Mississauga suffered life-altering injuries and is being treated at a trauma centre in the GTA. Of the two injured in Milton, one is in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition.
