Gunmen assassinate GPC’s leading member in Marib

MARIB, Aug. 03 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen assassinated the political activist and the leading member of the Genera People’s Congress (GPC) party, Hussein Zabnallah Shajrah, in Marib province on Tuesday.

Local sources confirmed that Shajrah was killed by unknown gunmen, believed to be affiliated with Islah Party, in front of his house in Harib city of Marib.

The gunmen managed to flee to an unknown destination, the sources added, noting that the assassination of Shajrah came after a wide campaign of incitement by Islah activists, amid accusations that he had worked for the Sanaa government during the last period.
