SANAA, Jun. 04 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology on Saturday expected rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, in a number of provinces, relatively dusty weather in desert areas, and high temperatures during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that moderate to heavy rains are expected on the western mountainous range of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Rayma, Hajjah, and Mahweet, the western parts of the provinces of Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran and Saada, and on parts of the inner plateaus of the provinces of Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa and Hadramout during the afternoon and evening periods.
The center also expected scattered rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunder on parts of the eastern and southern coasts and the adjacent interior areas, as well as parts of the western coastal plains.
In its weather bulletin, the center also warned citizens in desert areas and coastal plains against direct exposure to the scorching sun during the afternoon, calling on fishermen and sea-goers in the Socotra archipelago to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves.
