Senior al-Shabaab leader killed by Somali armed forces

SANAA, May 09 (YPA) – A senior Somali leader in al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab militant was killed in a military operation carried out by the Somali armed forces in eastern part of the  Galgaduud region of Galmudug state in central Somalia.

The incident took place in the “Sharafli” area, killing Fareh Ali, who was in charge of the terrorist movement in areas east of Galgduud province, the Somali News Agency reported Sunday.

Somali army forces are continuing a campaign to eliminate the remnants of al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab militants.
