Russia, Ukraine conduct new prisoner exchange

SANAA, April 10 (YPA) – Moscow and Kiev have announced that their military has conducted a new prisoner exchange deal, in the wake of Russia’s ongoing military operation in Ukraine.

Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova confirmed on her Telegram channel on Sunday that the exchange was carried out yesterday evening, including four employees of the Russian state nuclear energy corporation Ross Atom and a number of Russian military personnel.

“In the early hours of this morning, they landed in Russian territory and will soon be met by their relatives and parents.”

“Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Russian army, 14 sailors have been released from the civilian ship Azov Concorde and are now being evacuated to a safe place,” she added.

For her part,  Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said that 12 of our soldiers, including an officer, returned home.

“ We also managed to free 14 civilians, including nine women, a total of 26 person.”

She added that 14 civilians, including nine women, were also on their way home. She did not specify how many Russians were released in exchange for the Ukrainians.
