SHABWA, March 19 (YPA) – A military leader loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces survived on Saturday an assassination attempt in Shabaw province, east of Yemen.
Local sources said that an explosive device, which was planted in the car of the leader in the so-called “al-Amaliqa” forces backed by the UAE, Mohammed Ali Al-Salihi, exploded near his house in Ataq city.
Al-Amaliqa forces have been subjected since the UAE pushed them from the western coast towards Shabwa province in December to many explosions, which observers attributed to the conflict between Saudi-backed Islah party militants and armed groups funded by the UAE in the province.
