Ukrainian president admits that western countries let them down

SANAA, Feb. 25 (YPA) – President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine announced “Russian forces infiltrated Kiev” a day after the start of the Russian military operation.

“We are left alone to defend our country,” Zelensky said in a video address posted to the Ukrainian presidency. “Who is ready to fight with us? I don’t see anyone.”

The Ukrainian president stressed that he will remain in the capital. “I will stay in the capital. My family is also in Ukraine.

“Who is ready to guarantee Ukraine’s membership in NATO? Everyone is afraid,” he said, at a time when the alliance indicated that it would not send troops to support Ukraine.

On Thursday, Zelensky said at least 137 Ukrainians were killed on the first day of the Russian operation, and 316 others were wounded in the fighting.

Zelensky added, Russian troops resumed military operations for the second day at 4:00 a.m. Ukrainian time.

Regarding  international reactions, South Korea said it would not impose sanctions on Russia, while the European Union announced a new sanctions package targeting Russia’s oil sector, and Canada imposed sanctions on the Russian central bank.
