Clashes between Palestinians, Israeli occupation forces break out near Joseph’s tomb in Nablus

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 02 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out late Tuesday as Israeli occupation forces  and  Zionist settlers stormed the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

According to Palestinian sources, the occupation forces, accompanied by a military bulldozer, stormed the eastern area of Nablus from the Beit Furik checkpoint, and hundreds of soldiers were deployed on Al-Hasba Street and around the municipal slaughterhouse to secure the area before the settlers stormed.

Clashes immediately broke out with dozens of youths who confronted the occupation forces  with stones and homemade canisters, while soldiers fired a barrage of sound bombs and tear gas.

The incursion came suddenly , as settlers had previously announced next Thursday a date for storming Joseph’s tomb under the pretext of performing their Talmudic rituals.
