Iranian President to Al-Kadhimi: The unity and stability of Iraq is a strategic issue that must not be compromised

TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi stressed, in a call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, that the unity and stability of Iraq is a strategic issue and that it must not be compromised.

Raisi stressed the importance of the historical and close relations between the two countries, noting that Iran has always stood by the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government.

He added, that the enemies of the peoples of the region do not want security, stability and progress for the Iraqi people, and they are pursuing their evil goals by provoking sedition, so everyone should be aware of such conspiracies.

He considered that “it is necessary to use all energies in order to establish peace and stability in Iraq.”

He continued, “We consider the principle of elections an important achievement for the arbitration of the sovereignty of the Iraqi people over their destiny, and we have always stressed the need to determine the fate of the peoples through the ballot boxes.”

“In this regard, we support adhering to political verses to answer questions that are not clear legally and transparently,” he said.
