ADEN, Nov. 10 (YPA) – The European Union said the killing of journalist Rasha al-Harazi is a flagrant violation of journalists’ rights and freedom of expression in Yemen.
The EU condemned the attack against journalists Rasha al-Harazi and her husband Mahmoud al-Otmi, which killed pregnant al-Harazi and seriously injured al-Otmi in Aden city. The city is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia.
In a tweet, the EU called on local authorities in Aden to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Photojournalist Rasha al-Harazi, was killed while she was in her last days of pregnancy and her husband was injured when an improvised explosive device planted by unknown assailants in their car went off in Khor Maksar district.
The city of Aden has been witnessing insecurity and chaos amid escalating assassinations and kidnappings since the Saudi-led coalition took control of the city in the second half of 2015.
