SANAA, Nov. 10 (YPA) – Chinese People’s Liberation Army naval units conducted a massive military parade near the Taiwan Strait, amid tensions between Beijing and Taipei and Washington’s talk of supporting the Taiwanese military against China in the event of war.
China’s People’s Daily reported that the army’s Eastern Region Command conducted a naval patrol near the Taiwan Strait on Tuesday, in response to what China describes as the “island’s separatist tendencies.”
Beijing considers Taiwan to be part of Chinese territory and threatens to restore it even by force if necessary, while the island’s ruling Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) considers it an independent state.
China has warned the United States against supporting Taiwan and motivating it to take what it describes as “dangerous policies” after Washington announced its support for Taiwan if it was attacked by China.
