Britain: Demonstrations, public criticism condemning crimes of Saudi Arabia

LONDON, Oct. 18 (YPA) – The first match of the English club Newcastle, after its acquisition by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, witnessed public demonstrations and criticism focused on the Kingdom’s human rights record and crimes.

Human rights activists denounced the crimes of Crown Prince Salman, foremost of which is the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the war crimes in Yemen.

They organized demonstrations and carried banners reminiscent of the Khashoggi murder and pictures of the war crimes committed by Saudi Arabia in its war on Yemen.

The activists also gathered in the vicinity of the Newcastle-Tottenham United match stadium to protest against allowing the Saudi regime to whitewash its violations by investing in sports.
