Pompeo: Joe Biden must get tougher on Iran to secure Israel-Saudi Arabia normalization

SANAA, Oct. 17 (YPA) – Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called on President Joe Biden to become “tougher with Iran to secure  Israel-Saudi Arabia normalization.”

Speaking to the Telegraph, he said Biden’s more decisive handling of Iran is necessary if he hopes to convince Riyadh to become the next Arab country to have relations with Israel.

He added that Saudi authorities need “stronger assurances” from Washington that they “will be protected from Iran in the Middle East.”

“I am convinced that there will be more countries that will join the Abraham Accords, and one day Saudi Arabia will join as well,” he said.

Pompeo is one of the architects of the Abraham Accords, which resulted in full diplomatic relations between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain.
