Regional kidnappings campaign target people of northern provinces in Aden

ADEN, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Dozens of the people of the northern provinces working in Crater area in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, were kidnapped by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias on Monday, local sources said.

The STC militia members raided a number of shops and kidnapped dozens of workers in various simple professions in Crater area, and took them to its own detention centers on charges of smuggling the leader, “Imam al-Noubi,” from the area, according to the sources.

In his Facebook post, the southern journalist, Abdulrahman Anis, mocked the STC militia’s publication of a video of workers in a sewing shop from Taiz province, while being arrested, as a security achievement.

He described holding vendors and sellers responsible for al-Noubi’s escape as “a stupid behavior.”

Local sources had revealed that the exit of the Crater confrontations leader, “Imam al-Noubi,” was secured to Abyan province, through a mediation led by his brother Mukhtar, who works as a leader of the STC militia in Abyan.
