Yemen Gas company reveals plans of destruction its assets by coalition

SANAA, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Yemen Gas Company revealed on Monday secrets of the destruction and looting of the company’s assets by the previous governments.

The spokesman, Ali Mousar, confirmed in a statement that the company lacks an infrastructure for the asset management and preservation, a transport fleet, and storage and packaging facilities as a result of mistakes inherited by those governments.

The spokesman held Safer’s management in Marib responsible for exposing the company’s possessions to destroy in Sanaa during those stage, which amounted to 361,000 gas cylinders.

The statement pointed out that 347,000 of the company’s assets in the provinces of Aden, Hadramout and Shabwa have been systematically looted since the beginning of the war on Yemen, stressing that the Saudi-led coalition militia in Taiz caused the destruction of 63,000 gas cylinders owned by the company.

It indicated that the gas company’s facility in Saada was completely taken out of service after being destroyed completely by coalition airstrikes, with its various properties.

For his part, the Director of the Maintenance Department of the Yemen Gas Company, Abdul Aziz Shayef, stated that the assets of the company lack a strategic storage structure since receiving its assets.

He stressed that many of the storage sites for these assets have been exposed to danger and depreciation for years.

Shayef said: “We are currently seeking to avoid the shortcomings of the last stage, in implementation of the recommendations of the Central Organization for Control and Accountability in the company-owned sites, as is the case in Dhamar.”
