SANAA, Aug. 13 (YPA) – The Ministry of Electricity announced on Friday that the electricity transmission line equipped for the Karkh water project had been targeted with explosive devices.
The ministry stated in a statement that “the lines of electric power transmission (Karkh water – Nasr) and (Karkh water – Tarmia) with a voltage of 132 kV belonging to the General Company for Electricity Transmission in the Central Region were exposed, at dawn on Friday, to a terrorist act of sabotage by detonating explosive devices that led to Damage to Tower No. (13) carrying the two aforementioned lines near the Karkh water station.”
The statement added, “urgent measures were taken by the aforementioned public company’s staff, accompanied by the security forces, to inspect the two damaged lines for the purpose of speeding up the completion of the required maintenance and returning them to service.”
The statement continued, “The insistence on targeting vital points in the national system, and re-destroying everything that the Ministry of Electricity lives in and in which the government effort is dedicated, is only evidence of the attempt to kill life in this country that infiltrates terrorism and sabotage by targeting it through the file of services, first of which is electricity.”
