SANAA, Aug. 02 (YPA) – The death toll due to massive forest fires in southern Turkey has risen to eight after two bodies were found on Sunday and more people were evacuated from the fire zones, According to Anadolu agency,
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said the bodies were “found in the town of Manavgat in Antalya province,” adding that they had died in their home, which was damaged by the fire.
The mayor of Bodrum said a number of districts of Bodrum and Marmaris were evacuated as strong winds caught fire from the nearby Milas area.
Since the fires broke out last Wednesday, more than 864 people have received medical treatment.
Earlier reports indicated that six people had been killed in forest fires, while Turkish authorities are maintaining their tireless efforts to put out the forest fires through both aerial and ground operations.
