Deputy Minister of Agriculture meets FAO officials

SANAA, June 6 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Majid Al-Mutawakil met with Deputy Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Yemen, Mohammed Noman Salam and the international expert on animal health in the organization Mansour Al-Qodsi.

The officials discussed aspects of cooperation between FAO and the Ministry in the Field Schools Program and the rehabilitation and training of rural extension specialists.

The field school program includes the implementation of the home gardens programs which targeted small farmers in rural areas.

The officials pointed out that the schools have proved highly efficient on the ground, as they help to rehabilitate agricultural extension and enhance the role of the agricultural sector in providing food security.
