Cairo expels Yemeni activist loyal to coalition outside Egyptian territory

CAIRO, Jul. 03 (YPA) – The Egyptian Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, has issued a decision to deport Yasser Saleh Ahmed Al-Mahnaqi, a Yemeni national, outside Egyptian territory.

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior did not explain the direct reasons for the deportation decision, which was published on Saturday by its Official Gazette, saying only that it is “related to the public interest.”

According to some sources, Al-Mahaniqi, who was presented on some satellite channels of Saudi-led coalition as a military expert, was arrested for suspicions related to currency trading, as he had sums of money in his house, he could not prove its origins. He was imprisoned in Cairo for two weeks, and then a decision was issued to deport him from Egypt.
