STC militias attack Hadi’s security checkpoints in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Jun. 28 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen on Monday launched an attack on  Hadi’s forces in Shabwah province, southeastern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources

According to local sources, gunmen believed to belong to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council  (STC) attacked several security checkpoints on the outskirts of Ataq city and clashed with Hadi’s elements for hours before withdrawing.

The death toll from the clashes, which broke out at dawn, was not clear, but observers said it was a sign of a new round of fighting between Hadi’s  factions in the province .

This coincides with escalating tension in the oil province and the most prominent strongholds of so-called “legitimacy” after it effectively suppressed the STC in The Directorate of Nisab.
