Humanitarian Affairs Council, UNHCR discuss in Sanaa cooperation mechanisms

SANAA, Jun. 19 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulmohsen Tawoos, met on Saturday with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)’s Resident Representative in Yemen, John Nicholas.

They discussed the cooperation and joint work mechanisms between the Council and UNHCR to alleviate the suffering of the displaced in Yemen.

In the meeting, Tawoos confirmed the readiness of the Supreme Council to provide all necessary facilities to the UNHCR tasks, stressing the need to adhere to the controls of humanitarian work and respect the laws in force in Yemen.

For his part, Nicholas affirmed the UNHCR’s commitment to cooperation and coordination with the Humanitarian Affairs Council and to make all efforts regarding the issues of the displaced.
