Omani Foreign Ministry warns of electronic blackmail in name of its embassy in Yemen

MUSCAT, Jun. 16 (YPA) – The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned of electronic blackmail in the name of its closed embassy in Yemen.

The ministry said, in a statement, it had recently been observed repeated complaints of citizens being subjected to electronic blackmail by people “who claim to be Omani diplomats working at the Sultanate’s embassy in the brotherly Republic of Yemen.”

The statement explained that the Sultanate has no employees currently working in its embassy in the Republic of Yemen due to the current circumstances.

The ministry called on everyone to be careful not to fall into such electronic blackmail.
