Coalition recruit assassination ignites tribal war in Shabwa

SHABWA, May 22 (YPA) – A conscript in the ranks of the Saudi-led coalition forces was killed by tribal militants, which led to inter-tribal fighting in Shabwa province on Saturday.

Local sources in Shabwa said that “Nasr Nasser Hamas Al-Aslami,” one of the recruits of the so-called “19th Infantry Brigade” of the coalition forces, was shot dead by gunmen from “Al Lahqad” against the background of tribal revenge.

The sources explained that armed men from the Al Lahqad fired a barrage of bullets at “Al-Aslami” while he was in ‘Harib’ market, which led to his death.

The sources confirmed the outbreak of armed clashes between “Al Hamas” and “Al Lahqad” in the areas of “Al Aslam” tribe in Harib district, against the background of the killing of Al-Aslami.
