Angry protesters block streets in Hadramout, Aden

HADRAMOUT, May 29 (YPA) – Residents’ protest against the deterioration of public services continued on Monday for the second day in a row in Mukala city of Harmamout province, eastern Yemen, according to local sources.

Main streets leading to Fuwa area and Al-Salam neighborhood, and sub-streets of the city were blocked by dozens of angry protesters in protest at the continuation of the electricity outages that exhausted citizens in the summer.

“What is happening has no justification,” said Faraj al-Bahsani, governor of Hadramout province, loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces, in his meeting with the local authority.

On Monday, dozens of angry citizens blockade the headquarters of the petroleum company in the southern port city of Aden, protesting the rise of fuel prices.

The city of Aden witnessed a crisis of oil derivatives since the beginning of this year.
Around two week ago, officials of Saudi-backed Ben Daghr’s authorities said that the petroleum company would fix new prices for oil derivatives in Aden province.

Indebtedness of the Yemeni petroleum company run by the so-called Ben Dagher’s authorities exceeded more than 140 billion riyals, according to recent reports.

The Yemeni southern provinces, under the UAE and Saudi occupation, have been witnessing daily protests against the deterioration of public services, as well as security chaos in light of full absence of the state authorities.
