SANAA, March 15 (YPA) – The Syrian security services announced that they thwarted on Monday a terrorist attempt to target the capital, Damascus.
A security source said the terrorist operation thwarted was targeting the city of Damascus with explosive belts, as well as 3 terrorists were killed, and 3 others arrested, according to the Syrian official news agency (SANA).
The sources affirmed that the terrorist operation came coinciding with the so-called of tenth anniversary of the “Syrian revolution”.
A day earlier, the British Foreign Office announced it imposed sanctions on 6 Syrian figures affiliated with the Syrian regime, including the Foreign Minister, Faisal al-Mekdad.
