Hamas: Electing head of the movement continues in accordance with regulations

QAZA, March 10 (YPA) – Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that the process of electing the movement’s president in Gaza is continuing and will be completed today in accordance with the regulations.

Hamas said in a press release on February 23 that it had begun its internal elections in the Gaza Strip “with the participation of tens of thousands of brothers and sisters who have the right to vote and run.”

“The electoral process took place in a positive, democratic, transparent and fair atmosphere and orderly procedures, supervised by a central election commission, under the movement’s rules of procedure,” Hamas added .

The movement indicated that the rest of the electoral stages will be completed until the election of the General Consultative Council and the president and members of the political bureau of the movement.
