Attorney General directs releasing convicted prisoners in public rights cases

SANAA, May 24, 2018 (YPA) – The Attorney-General, Judge Majid al-Derbabi, directed on Thursday heads of the prosecution to release prisoners who had spent three-quarters of duration of their imprisonments in offences relating to the public right.

The prosecution works on following up the various cases of prisoners and spares no effort in helping the insolvent, said Judge al-Derbabi, during the third annual celebration of the Yemeni Prisoner Day organized by the Higher Committee for Prisoners Care in the capital Sanaa.

He praised the role of businessmen, social welfare institutions and philanthropists who have contributed to the release of the insolvent prisoners, especially in the current effects of the aggression and unjust siege imposed on the country.
