SANAA, Nov. 3 (YPA) – The Parliament listened, in a session chaired on Tuesday by the speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, to a report of the committee of development, oil and mineral resources.
The report touched upon the situation of the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority, investment activities in the mineral sector, and the legislation regulating this sector.
The report included an overview of mineral resources sector in Yemen, noting that the surveys and exploratory studies carried out during the past years have proven that Yemen’s geology contains multiple types of rocks and minerals, including bedrock rocks, sedimentary rocks, igneous volcanic rocks, metallic minerals, gold, silver, zinc, lead, copper, nickel and cobalt.
The report also included the types of industrial construction materials present in Yemen, the committee’s inquiries and the authority’s responses.
